The "woolly mammoth" is an extinct species of mammoth that lived during the Pleistocene until its extinction. It was one of the last species of mammoth species, beginning with "Mammuthus subplanifrons" in the early Pliocene. The woolly mammoth borns from the steppe mammoth about 400,000 years ago in East Asia.

  • Woolly mammoths looked a lot like today's Asian elephants, except for one major difference that They were covered in a thick coat of brown hair. They even had fur-lined ears.
